In association with the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, Woollahra Council held the inaugural Environmental Sculpture Schools Competition. The theme for 2007 was Recycling.
Student sculptures went on display at Council during the same week as the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize exhibition. The sculptures remained on display throughout National Recycling Week in November.
The winning entries were selected by the 2007 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize judges John McPhee and Laura Back. Garbage echidna by Charles Sullivan stood out in the judges' view, with the sculptor "displaying a clear vision of what he wanted to create".
