A branch of a gum tree has been replicated in cane toad skin, referring to the colonisation of our native species by introduced species. The movement of living things around the planet has been constant. We could consider our own colonisation in Australia as not unlike the cane toad invasions in terms of indigenous population. The work also alludes to the possible loss of our national identity as a result of rampant globilisation - economic and cultural.
