The layering of photographic imagery acts to confuse the viewer, playing with the perception of space and bombarding the viewer as the different layers compete for attention. Some of the layering is done using the craft technique découpage. The layering of the mirror image creates a tunnel vision, which is contradicted by the flat patterned planes of the wallpaper. There is a feeling of masking and hiding when encountering the work and a fear and curiosity about what is hidden. There are points of seduction and ones of claustrophobic repulsion.
