My work is largely comprised of found and recycled objects combined with constructed forms and is mostly domestic in scale. In both promising and denying functionality, my work explores our ambivalent desires to find some kind of use, or even pleasure, in art objects. I try to combine the wit and grotesquery of Dadaist sculpture with the cool and often recalcitrant surfaces and shape of Minimalism. While the works come out of 20th century avant-garde sculpture, their provocation is not like Dada, all crackle and burn, but is in the spirit of contemporary life at the other end of the century.
