A 'non place' signifies a place that is in between places and is a condition that the displaced have to deal with. A mountain, also a non place, is climbed and traversed to reach another place. My work explores and identifies with such 'non places' due to my quest to discover my real name and identity (my father was given the name Ionico after allegedly being found on the Ionian Sea). I am resigned to the futility of my quest and take comfort in the journey of life or the 'climb'.
