Anima marks a significant shift within my glass arts practice as I become further invested in creating increasingly emotive works.
I have found the classic sculptural bust is an ideal form with which to draw focus upon my continuing investigation into human characteristics of expression and emotion.
This work is inspired by imagery found within contemporary media and popular culture whilst still referencing historical figurative sculpture and religious iconography. Essentially my creative interest lies in giving classic figurative sculpture a contemporary context, exploring notions of the human condition within the medium of blown and sculpted glass.
