Bone Umbilical 2 is a work that explores enduring family relationships. I start every work with the gathering of materials, sticks and fabric and twine to build forms and these are imbued with whatever is on my mind.
This subject of family has been challenging, but what shone through on its completion is the desire to find balance within powerfully charged interactions. It is this ability to endure that makes us who we are, both fragile and enduring. I find much beauty in this vulnerability.
