A while ago, a long time collector was at pains to tell me he had moved some of my work on. I realised I had been de-accessioned. What people throw away, what they leave on the street fascinates me. I enjoy picking over such offerings on my way to work, visually if not physically.
Seasons determine clean outs and autumn is the time to rid yourself of that lounge suite in your life. I love seeing them, their different styles and stages of decline gracing the curb. Then I think back to my collector's comment and wonder if my work, like the chair, ended up on the verge?
