Yioryios transforms sturdy aluminium into architectural painted sculptures that embody an innate sense of power, dynamism and speed.
"My work has been derived from the inside pillars of the Sydney Opera House. Sourcing and identifying the uniform shapes through the building's inherent patterns. Stripping away the form, leaving only shapes and lines that vary in weight, colour and direction. Manipulating these patterns by using aluminium to create my sculpture."
Yioryios is a recent graduate of Australian National University, attaining a Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honours, majoring in Painting.
He has exhibited in Australia and completed an exchange program amongst École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His career objective is to paint and immerse himself into the diverse cultures of art.
