The idea was to use an architectural icon (a typical Middle Ages cathedral ceiling) and lay a computer generated structure/surface over the shape. The result is an alternative to the vertical column and arch construction. Old to new. The numbers are coded text, as applied patina, 'speaking silently' of environmental effects on the surface.
