I produce multifaceted ceramic figures utilising hand built and molded components that are then painted with coloured pigments and glazes.
Drawing reference from the 18th and 19th century Staffordshire tradition of the figurine, I subvert and imbue contemporary narratives referencing a global mix of love, life, decay, orientalism, junk food and baked beans, with an element of humour, social comment and political satire. This work uses visual clichés, trompe-l'œil, and surprise to create an action figure out of the elements found at my breakfast table.
