Ultimately, Shifted Paradigm just is ... a thing ... an object ... a sculpture. Generally, or in universal terms, the work is concerned directly with a dialogue between form, material and space. It may (and should firstly) be interpreted solely on this material, cognitive and aesthetic premise. Upon further investigation, the work aims to do just that! In its own subtle way - to shift the paradigm of contemporary art/sculpture in posing the question: why can't contemporary sculpture be aesthetically pleasing and formally engaging - and motionless, whilst maintaining relevance to contemporary critical thinking?
