Building Blocks explores what it is that may define place within the rapid construction of 'packaged' communities. Established suburbs and rural villages are peculiar beasts; a host for the persistence of sacred memories, the Australian Mandala.
Building Blocks raises the question of "...how do established communities retain a sense of place within the relentless expansion of ubiquitous, characterless housing developments?"
The hip and valley house, bone and building blocks are infused with allegory and can be interpreted as representing erection, death and resurrection.
