I am an Anmatyerre artist from Utopia and I stared doing carvings a few years ago. I learnt to carve from my mum Josie Kunoth Petyarre and my dad Dinni Kunoth Kemarre. First I watched them carve and then I started myself. I carve a lot of birds because I like them and see them all the time. First I look at the wood, and then I work out what shape the bird will be.
