The most influential, controversial and powerful political leaders of our time. Ironically, when I set out to make this work, my intention was not to make a political statement.
My intention was to explore notions of weakness and vulnerability, and strength and power. I use the recognisability of these political figureheads to explore the vulnerability of the naked human body - exposed. Are clothes just an Instagram filter? Is their function censorship? To disguise truth so we can all hang onto our fragile facades? Is that our power or our weakness?
We all have our demons; those internal battles that humans have struggled with since eternity began. One of the most famous images that epitomises this universally, is that of Adam and Eve and the half eaten apple. Temptation, morality, corruption. Does truth still have power or is perception everything in a world that puts so much value on an image.
To be vulnerable is to be honest. To show strength is to have power. To struggle is to be weak. Yet, is weakness, in reality - strength?
